Description Ingredients Recipes

Elmhurst 1925 is a non-dairy beverage made from whole nuts.

What Is Milked?
Milked (verb): to draw something from. The work “milked” best describes the unique process of using water to separate and draw out the nutrients from the nuts. These valuable nutrients, once released, re-combine naturally to make a very creamy and smooth beverage without the use of any added emulsifiers or thickeners. Elmhurst's process allows them to use more nuts, which means a more delicious and nutritious nutmilk. Free from: gluten, dairy, soy, lactose, high-fructose corn syrup, carrageenan or any other gums, stabilizers, or emulsifiers.

Current Varieties:

  • Milked Almonds offers a perfectly balanced flavor with a creamy richness that is truly satisfying and nutritious. It is perfect for drinking straight out of the glass!
  • Milked Cashews has an irresistibly creamy and subtle flavor that’s perfect over cereal, in smoothies, in coffee or enjoyed straight from the carton.
  • Milked Hazelnuts is a delicious lactose-free, vegan alternative to dairy. One taste of the irresistible creaminess and you’ll see for yourself!
  • Milked Walnuts is a light and creamy dairy alternative that is both delicious and nutritious. Try it today on cereals, in recipes or in your smoothies.
  • Milked Oats is made with 20 grams whole grain per glass, sourced from Manitoba’s vast expanse, and with more nutrition (and fewer ingredients) than that other guy.
  • Milked Peanut Chocolate hits hard with eight grams of peanut protein per glass – the same as chocolate dairy milk.

From A Historic American Dairy
“My name is Henry Schwartz. In 1925, my father and uncle founded Elmhurst, a New York family dairy. For over 90 years, we took great pride in producing natural and nutritious milk. I believe nondairy milk should be just as natural and nutritious. It shouldn’t be nut-flavored water with additives to make it look like milk. Elmhurst gives you the delicious flavor and nutrition of a handful of nuts in every glass.” – Henry Schwartz, Founder

Elmhurst 1925 won Company of the Year from VegNews Magazine for 2017!

Roasted Pumpkin Hazelnut Risotto

3 cups Elmhurst Milked Hazelnuts
1½ cups Arborio Rice
½ cup Onion, Chopped
1 Tbsp. Garlic, Minced
8-oz. Canned Pumpkin Puree
½ cup Feta Cheese
½ cup Radicchio, Sliced
2 tbsp. Sage, Chopped
1 tbsp. Vegetable Oil

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. On a greased baking pan, spread out the pumpkin puree evenly.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the pumpkin starts to turn golden brown.
  4. In a large sauté pan, heat the vegetable oil and add onions. Sweat the onions until translucent.
  5. Add the garlic to the pan and sauté for another minute.
  6. Add the Arborio rice to the pan and toast for about 2 minutes.
  7. Add 1 cup of the Elmhurst Milked Hazelnuts, stirring constantly so that the rice does not stick to the bottom.
  8. Once almost all the liquid has been absorbed, repeat step 7 two more times, until all the Elmhurst Milked Hazelnuts has been soaked into the rice.
  9. Add in the radicchio and let it cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring constantly.
  10. Stir in the pumpkin, feta cheese, and sage, serve immediately.

Where to Buy

When i first tasted I didn’t understand the taste but after while i felt smth good on my tongue and it was very delicious , and my children loved it

Variety tried: Almond

I thought this product was great. It was very smooth and creamy for almond milk. I am allergic to dairy. I've tried just about every kind of milk alternative on the market. This is a very good one.

Variety tried: Almond

As someone on a macro based diet, almond milk tends to be difficult to work into my allotted macros because of the math and pre-planning involved, so I'm only able to enjoy it as a special treat. As far as almond milk goes, this brand is just as good as any other I've tried. It works well as a milk substitute in cereal, oatmeal, and coffee, though I'm not a fan of drinking almond milk plain in general. I love the humor in the Milked Almonds name as well, which would definitely influence my decision to purchase this brand.

Variety tried: Unsweetened Almond

This is a great addition to my morning coffee! I will most certainly recommend it to a friend and have them try it the next time they are over to visit.

Variety tried: Almond

It was different experience from a dairy beverage. I loved it my kids loved it so I will be buying more in the future. I will be trying all the different flavors.

Variety tried: Peanut Chocolate
