Taste was ok
I mixed in additional frozen spinach to this dish because the greens didn’t look very appetizing the way it is made shelf stable. Taste was ok
Variety tried: Palak Tofu Paneer (Creamed Spinach Curry)
Love Truly Indian!
This was a wonderful surprise from Truly Indian. You can tell it is made with quality ingredients and real care. Everyone in my household liked it, and I will happily buy it again and recommend it to friends and family.
Variety tried: Aloo Matar (Potato & Pea Curry)
Truly great experience
This year, Indian food was just about as real as I can get coming out of a tinfoil bag and it made it like a true India experience like you were traveling on an airplane to the country of India to eat their food
Variety tried: Bombay Biriyani
Frozen Tika Madala Rice
This was really convenient and easy to heat up. It tasted great, and I paired it with a vegetable to make a nicely balanced dinner. Would buy again.
Variety tried: Tikka Masala Rice
Quick and easy meal
I would be likely to use the Truly Indian Entrees as a quick easy to put together meal, rather than as part of a larger meal. I like very spicy food, so I'd have to add some spices to this.
Variety tried: Dal Makhani (Lentil & Bean Chili)
Easy meal
This is good for when you don't feel like preparing a meal. You just warm it up over the stove and serve it over rice. That's how I ate mine. I found it a bit spicy for my taste so I added a side of avocado.
Variety tried: Dal Makhani (Lentil & Bean Chili)
Good source of fiber but high in sodium & sat. fat
Truly Indian's Dal Makhani is very flavorful, and you can really taste the spices, especially the star anise. My first impression was that it was a bit oily and could use a touch more salt, but according to the nutritional info, it's already pretty high in saturated fat and sodium. One pouch is 2 servings, but I normally eat a whole pouch at once because I personally think it's too small for 2 servings. If you eat the whole pouch, that's 46% DV of saturated fat and 50% DV of sodium, which is pretty high for one meal. On the plus side, a whole pouch has 94% DV of fiber and 14g of protein, both of which I need more of in my diet. I appreciate that it's vegan, preservative-free, and doesn't contain any GMOs, too. Even though it was tasty, I don't think this is something I would eat on a regular basis just because of the high fat and sodium content. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Need to supplement with a side or protein
I recently tried the Dal Makhani and while it had good flavor, it was not a substantial enough serving on its own. You need to add rice or a protein (chicken, tofu) to make it a meal.

Truly Indian vegan indian entrees
The favor was okay, but it wasn't particularly memorable for me. I like that is was convenient and easy to prepare, but I had other indian entrees that I enjoyed more. It's an alright option for a quick meal.

Yumm
Love this! It’s my second time buying it and definitely would again. My albertsons sadly only has the Dal Makhani (Lentil & Bean Chili) one otherwise I would try other varieties. I like that it is spicy but not to overpowering. Love that this is vegan!
