You’d never guess this Non-Dairy Beverage is made with vegetables. Veggemo is created with pea protein for nutrition and flavour, tapioca for a creamy texture and potatoes for the milky-white colour. Veggemo contains 6g of protein per serving and is rich in calcium, Vitamin D, and is an excellent source of B12. It is perfect for people with lactose intolerance, allergies or food sensitivities as it’s dairy free and free of most common allergens. Bananamo Bread

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) white sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) baking powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) sunflower or other neutral tasting vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Veggemo Vanilla
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) white vinegar
  • 2 cups (500 ml) mashed very ripe bananas (about 4 large bananas)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350F/175C.

2. Sift all Dry Ingredients together.

3. Beat all Wet Ingredients together with an electric mixer until smooth. On low speed, fold in Dry Ingredients just until mixed.

4. Pour batter into parchment-paper lined loaf pans and bake until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan and cool on wire rack.

It was a really god milk substitute. I wouldn’t drink it straight like I would a regular cup of milk but it worked well for baking and cooking and I couldn’t really taste the difference in my morning cup of coffee

I enjoyed this product. I liked that it was non-dairy as I am lactose intolerant, and that it provides a variety of nutritional benefits as well.

Interesting idea, but I overall still enjoy almond, cashew or coconut milk more, and will likely stick with that preference. Still a great product though!

My kiddo is allergic to dairy, tree nuts and hates rice milk. When he took to this- you can imagine the mommy excitement! 😅 Thumbs up from our family!

I love the whole idea and concept of this dairy substitute, but I don't love the taste. I use my dairy substitute for everything I would normally use milk for including drinking and the taste of veggemo doesn't lend itself to this.
