Soft tasty buns my husband loved
I picked up the frozen bar buns from Laoban Dumplings and my husband absolutely loved them. They were really easy to heat up and came out soft and fluffy with a great texture. The flavor was really good and tasted much higher quality than most frozen buns we’ve tried. They didn’t taste overly processed and felt like something you’d get from a good dumpling shop. These are perfect for a quick meal or snack when you want something comforting but don’t want to cook from scratch. My husband finished them so quickly that we’ll definitely be buying them again. 🥟
Naturally good
Laoban Dumplings began as a dumpling shop in Washington, DC. Inspired by the experience teaching English in China, Patrick Coyne linked up with Tim Ma, a 5x Michelin-awarded chef, to create their own take on classic Chinese dumplings & Bao.
Laoban means “boss” in Chinese, and Laoban Dumplings & Bao pay homage to the bosses of Chinese dumpling shops. They’re crafting delicious dumplings & bao from scratch using all-natural, premium ingredients like free range chicken and Berkshire pork, without any preservatives.
Made from scratch and undeniably delicious, these new Bao Buns are available three mouthwatering flavors. Choose from:
🌟 Sesame Chicken: sweet & fluffy dough surrounding free range chicken, shiitake mushrooms and sesame
🌟 Spicy Beef: a pillow of dough surrounding grass-fed beef, onion, chili and cumin
🌟 Chinese Style BBQ Pork: carb perfection around savory Berkshire pork and Chinese BBQ spices

Soft texture, but seriously lacking flavor
I was disappointed with these frozen bao buns. While the texture was soft and easy to prepare, they had very little flavor and tasted quite bland. I expected a more enjoyable and flavorful experience, but unfortunately, these didn’t stand out enough for me to want to buy them again.

Try dumplings
So I generally do not have a lot of frozen meals however I like to keep them handy just incase for some days when I want something quick. Lap buns were definitely delicious and flavorful. The filling was good , I did not microwave though I steamed it so texture was also good. Will definitely try the other varieties as well

Laoban Buns
I liked how easy these are to make and the flavors. I made them in the microwave and they turned out well. I just wish more came in the box! The serving is kind of small.

Easy and convenient
I love how easy and quick these are to make. Not only are they quick and easy to make but they are flavorful. The bun has a nice sweet taste to it. Wish they were sold in a family pack size. Portion in box is small.
