In 1997, four families came together with the idea of improving the lives of disadvantaged producers through trade. They were inspired by the work of Ten Thousand Villages and were keen to see the principles of Fair Trade applied to foods we consume every day. Level Ground’s first Fair Trade initiative was buying coffee from a cooperative in Colombia. Fair Trade premiums are directed to educational scholarships in the coffee growing region and the project has grown to support 200 scholarships a year! Today Fair Trade premiums are directed to different projects based on the needs of the farmers; healthcare benefits, school scholarships, agricultural technical training, co-op projects etc. It’s been an adventure in travel and trade, and Level Ground is honoured to have farmer friends around the world!

It’s better for our health to try organic foods and fair trade is fairer for poor farmers too less harmful chemicals in our bodies as well! I highly recommend it

I drink my coffee black and this hit the mark! Smooth and no acidic after taste. My go to now in the mornings! I love that it's roasted locally and being a fair trade product makes me feel good about buying it again and again 😀
Wonderful coffee and locally roasted! I purchased the Espresso and enjoyed that it was well balanced (low acidity, not predominantly fruity).
The taste was decent but nothing too special. There are better ones in the market. I may purchase again since this is produced locally in Victoria BC.

This was lovely balanced coffee. Not to acidic, strong flavor without that kicked-in-the-teeth jolt. I shared some at work and everyone commented the coffee was better than usual that day. I tried the Bolivia Variety. It was good, I have seen it in stores since and even bought the Peru one to try next. The price isn't cheap but i genuinely feel better about buying a fair-trade brand like Level Ground.
This coffee was absolutely amazing. I enjoy my coffee without sugar so bitterness is not an option for myself when having a cup. The French roast was so smooth and dark and flavourful and everything I enjoy out of my morning cup! Bravo to the roasters and I highly recommend it if you are a coffee diva
I got this coffee for my husband and he was not too impressed with the flavour or texture of the beans. Unfortunately we will not be buying this coffee in the future.
